LINDEN - Mrs. Lucy Hauser, 87, of Spencer, mother of Mrs. Lulu Barton of Linden, died Monday morning. She had been spending the winter with her daughter. Born in Owen County on Feb. 23, 1881, she was a daughter of Owen and Sarah Spear Massie. She married Sanford Hauser, who died June 11. 1935. Mrs. Hauser was a member of the Spencer Church of Christ. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Lovella Starnes of Morocco and Mrs. Barton; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Criss of Spencer; 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great~great grandchildren. A brother and sister are deceased. Funeral rites are at 2 p.m. Wednesday at West and Son Funeral Home in Spencer, where friends may call. Bro. Henry Smith will officiate, with interment in New Union Cemetery near Spencer. - jlr
